Elena Gormley – Associate Photographer

Elena Gormley, associate photographer for New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Boston weddings for Kevin Jacobus PhotographyElena’s style and approach to photography is based on a compilation of past experiences, namely her work as a publisher, writer and experience designer.  After graduating from college with a creative writing and Spanish major, she started a publishing company comprising three magazines for Vail, Aspen and Summit County.  The publications incorporated creative storytelling through writing and images within a design and sketched an invitation to her readers to experience the destinations as visitors in-the-know.  During that time, Elena photographed sporting, music and charity events as a member of the press while also collaborating with professional photographers.  Her first magazine was endorsed by Former President Gerald Ford who wrote the opening letter welcoming visitors to Vail.  In addition to local newspapers, she was featured in The New York Times as a leader in the tourism industry.

After selling her business, she pursued an MBA in entrepreneurship and marketing at University of Texas at Austin.  During the two-year program, Elena worked on her own documentary called A Day in the Life of an MBA while also working as an assistant wedding photographer.

Post graduation, she and her husband relocated to Minneapolis where she joined a boutique consulting firm as their experience designer.  Within that role, Elena worked with both small, private and large, Fortune 500 companies to develop designs that touched all aspects of a customer’s experience. These designs were based on an understanding of the overall emotional impact an experience has on an individual.  Through experience design and publishing, she has been trained to see, feel and document aspects of an experience through the eyes of another person.

Now, as a mother, former publisher and experience designer, Elena has developed a photographic style that seeks to reveal emotion, authenticity and the beauty of the moment within her images. Elena currently lives on the south shore of Massachusetts with her husband, dog (first child) and two girls.  Elena joined our team of wedding photographers in 2009.  View Elena’s gallery.

Beth Donnell- Associate Photographer

Beth Donnell, associate wedding photographer for Kevin Jacobus PhotographyBeth believes in capturing the little moments, the delicate details, and the small gestures.  She is always looking for the beautiful backgrounds, sweet light, and just the right glance or smile to make a photograph that will last a lifetime.  Beth studied journalism at UMASS Amherst where she traveled to Sicily for travel photography.  It was the beautiful landscapes and nature that inspired her to first take photos, and it has always remained an important element in her work since.

After working a corporate job for a few years, Beth realized she could not deny her passion for photography, nor write it off as simply a hobby.  Beth expanded her photography skills by studying at the Center of Digital Imaging Arts (CDIA) at Boston University where she will receive her Professional Certificate of Photography.  From her work at CDIA, Beth has developed a greater body of work by expanding into engagement and portrait sessions and photographing weddings and events.  She is truly happy when she can look through the lens and capture the mood of the moment that will be remembered and cherished forever.  Beth has shot wedding and engagement sessions in Maine and Massachusetts and is available for work throughout New England.  View Beth’s gallery.
