Baby Portrait, First Year

Baby portraits are important to do 3-4 times in the first year. They change so much and you’ll want to capture them from their first weeks; all wrinkled and sleepy up to their first birthday with their big, wonder-filled eyes curiously taking it all in. We’ll work with you to create an affordable, yet lasting value package of portraits and prints to show off your baby’s first year with pride. Each photograph and session will be unique to you and your child since we work on location. Portrait photographers capture the joy of a child and that is best brought out with the freedom and fun of the outdoors where a little one can feel free to play and explore, soon forgetting about the photographer and allowing us to capture them marveling at the world around them or simply enjoying a game of hide-and-seek with a sibling or mom and dad. You won’t find any pushing, prodding or pulling here; our photographers bring out the best in children by letting them do what they do best, play!

Rally for Ryan

I am excited to announce that I am taking part in a fundraiser for Ryan Cavanaugh of Nashua Thursday evening!  Ryan is a 10 year-old boy who has been afflicted with Marfan syndrome, a genetic disorder of the connective tissue, his entire life. He already had open-heart surgery once when he was 21 months old.

Ryan will undergo open-heart surgery to replace two heart valves and his aortic root.  His surgery is scheduled for March 12.  Unfortunately, his family found out that the surgery was needed only within the past few weeks, after a recent MRI. Doctors said the surgery would have to be scheduled as soon as possible.

A parent of a student at his school (Charlotte Avenue Elementary School) Nicole Dane and the principal have organized a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for Thursday, March 5th.  Read about it in the local newspaper, The Telegraph.

I will be there with a studio lighting set up to do quick portraits for $20 each and I am donating 100% of the proceeds to Ryan’s medical costs and a photo book for Ryan. 

I’m going to have people who are photographed write their best wishes to Ryan and I will include them in the photo book.  I’m also working with the school to have kids in his class do drawings which will be included in the book for Ryan.  My hope is that some of his classmates can participate in presenting the photo book to him. 

If you are interested in going, it’s at the Charlotte Avenue Elementary School in Nashua Thursday night at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. 

I spoke with the principal today and she said there’s at least 150 people coming, and they have food for 600, so hopefully we can raise more money with portraits to match as closely as possible the funds raised from the spaghetti dinner.

Trevor & Sarah

I was at the Grandview Inn & Resort in Jaffrey, NH February 28, 2009 for Sarah and Trevor’s wedding. Their ceremony was held at Merrimack Valley Baptist Church. Trevor works in Maine politics, having been a legislative aide and now Grassroots Director of Maine Leads! Sarah is a nurse at Eastern Maine Medical Center and is about to start her Masters in Nursing at Husson University in Bangor, ME.

They were introduced to each other at a family party by Trevor’s sister Camara. Have a look at their cake– Sarah made her own wedding cake!

Travis & Johanna

Johanna and Travis were married Oct. 18, 2008 at Suncook Methodist Church on Main Street in Suncook followed by a reception at Southern NH University Hospitality Center. On the way to the reception, we stopped at her grandmother’s house and at a farm along the way and we made some nice photos in the late afternoon light.

Amy & Justin

The start of October had me at Amy and Justin’s wedding at St. Catherine’s Parish in Manchester, NH, followed by a reception at the Manchester Country Club in Bedford.

A Phone Call from Iraq

I photographed Emily and Jay’s wedding Sept. 13, 2008. I first met Emily and her family while covering a story on her brother Ross when I worked for The Telegraph.  He was deploying with his Marine Corps Reserve unit to Iraq. I’ve been photographing their family for 5 years, and many of their family events have been punctuated by farewells and welcome home ceremonies for Ross.  He’s now on his second deployment to Iraq.
