See us at The Wedding Event in Newburyport!

I just signed on for a booth at The Wedding Event, which is being touted as a hip planning soiree sponsored by The Newburyport Chamber of Commerce, The Knot, and AAA at Nicholson Hall at 9 Harris Street in Newburyport, Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009.  It starts at 6 p.m and runs until 9 p.m.  Come visit us there!

Melissa & Adam’s Engagement Session at the Boston Public Garden

I met up with Melissa and Adam at the Boston Public Garden May 17, 2009 to photograph their engagement session. We had a memorable, funny moment–no sooner had I warned them to watch their belongings when an old man came up and started taking their nice leather jackets. He was busted and decided better of it! Added to the excitement of the day, that’s for sure. Their wedding reception was July 31st at Promises to Keep in Derry, NH. Still working on the photos from the wedding. I photographed Aimee and Ryan’s wedding April 25, 2009 at the Bedford Village Inn in Bedford, NH. This is the first of at least 4 weddings I’ll be photographing there this year.

Jill and Matt’s April Wedding at Topsfield Commons

I photographed Jill and Matt’s wedding ceremony and reception April 17, 2009 at the Topsfield Commons. The ladies got ready at a rented home on Plum Island in Newburyport, MA and we were able to head to the beach after for some photos before the ceremony. I had my associate Nicolaus with me and he photographed the guys getting ready at The Garrison Inn in Newburyport. They all headed down to the boardwalk in Newburyport Harbor for some photographs of the guys.

I did a little bit of painting with light, which involves uses a flashlight and a long shutter speed for some of the portraits.

I knew a few folks there–Jill’s maid of honor, Marisa, and her husband Paul were engagement session clients months before. Jill’s father was my high school track coach and so it was a small world to be hired by them. We had a great year shooting engagements and their wedding. Jill has sent a lot of clients my way and for that I’m thankful! I promised to be her family photographer if she’d let me!

New Talent!

I’m excited to announce that Kevin Jacobus Photography has expanded!  I receive many requests for additional photographers at weddings and for video services.  So, in order to meet the needs of our growing client base, I’ve added 4 associate photographers and a videographer as well.

In this gloomy economic environment, it gives me satisfaction to make an announcement that we’re actually growing.  It is my belief that our service and attentiveness to our clients, consistently beautiful photography, ability to meet and exceed customer expectations as well as referrals by happy clients have allowed Kevin Jacobus Photography to add services and options in what is certainly the worst economic downturn most of us have ever experienced.

I am grateful to be in this position, and it is largely the combination of hard work, dedication, and my past clients that I owe a great deal of my success to.

Looking ahead, our mission for 2009 is to bring amazing wedding photojournalism, portraiture, maternity, and baby photography to more people throughout New England combined with a focus on flexibility, value, superior customer service and attentiveness to our clients needs.

I have also created value packages so we can bring our creative visual arts talent to more people.  I have met many potential clients lately and I’ve heard stories of layoffs and worries about the future.  We are doing our part by offering many package options including completely customized packages, a gift registry to help with wedding photography costs, and expanded products like high definition video.

We are happy to have the opportunity to regularly use our talent for your benefit, and my message to people considering our services - know that your are taking part in the real and tangible part of our local economy where you receive something of true and lasting value at a price point that makes sense for your wallet.  The photographers and videographer at Kevin Jacobus Photography will work hard as we always have to earn your business, your confidence, and your future referrals for a job well done!
