Yoga Redefined New Business Photographs

Yoga Redefined New Business Photographs

I spent an afternoon recently at the newly opened Yoga Redefined studio at 55 Lake St. in Nashua to photograph a class as well as owner Dena Carbone and fellow instructor Deb Balise for their marketing and website use. The Lake St. location is in a mill building that is being renovated with brand new, bright and beautiful studios, a great addition to the city of Nashua. If you are into yoga or would like to try it out, be sure to check out their schedule online here.

Frontline: From the Emergency Room to the Battlefield

Frontline: From the Emergency Room to the Battlefield

I worked with Telegraph reporter Ashley Smith to produce this video of Southern NH Medical Center nurses sharing their thoughts on their military service in the Iraq War. Footage includes photographs and interviews about their deployment experiences serving the emergency medical needs of U.S. troops as well as captured enemy combatants.

Becoming a Citizen

Becoming a Citizen

I covered a citizenship ceremony in Concord, NH in January, 2006 for The Telegraph (of Nashua) and while working with the print reporter, I photographed and produced an audio slideshow from the event. We focused on Susannah Maria Hakeem, a young Merrimack, NH woman who told her story of persecution in Egypt because of her Coptic Christian faith and her path to becoming a citizen of the United States.

Maternity Portrait Session with Christy

Maternity Portrait Session with Christy

I photographed Christy’s maternity portrait on location in Nashua on a referral from a makeup artist, Candace French who I work with on weddings from time to time. I worked on location so that we could also incorporate her family and have a custom, relaxed feel to the maternity photographs. I photographed her newborn photos as well and they are featured in the maternity and baby gallery.

Lakes Region Family Portrait Session

Lakes Region Family Portrait Session

I took Robert and Trista and their kids to Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough, NH for their family portrait session in late August. Castle in the Clouds is a tourist spot for great views and for grabbing a lunch, and of course they host weddings and receptions too. It also makes a great spot for a day out with the family including an on location portrait session. Kevin Jacobus Photography has worked quite a bit with Trista and her family. My associate photographer Nicolaus photographed their vows renewal at Belknap Mills in Laconia, NH and Trista and I worked together on her “Trash the Dress” session in downtown Nashua, NH and in Greeley Park.

Maryanne and Kim’s Home Barn wedding and Backyard Tent Reception

Maryanne and Kim’s Home Barn wedding and Backyard Tent Reception

Being a NH wedding photographer means having the opportunity to photograph weddings by the sea, in the mountains, on lakes, and in New England country barns. The latter was the case for me in mid-August for Maryanne and Kim’s wedding. They had a rustic barn on their property in the hills of in Gilford, NH, a town that borders Lake Winnipesaukee on the south side. A prominent guest hired a pilot and an aerial photographer to fly over the property between the ceremony and reception so that the newlywed couple could be photographed waving as seen from the unusual view from an airplane. In attendance was former New England Patriots cheerleader Britni Baron.

Children & Toddler Portrait Gallery

Children & Toddler Portrait Gallery

One of the best ways to photograph kids is to just let them interact with each other or their environment. Parents are encouraged to work with NH portrait photographer Kevin Jacobus to engage their kids- whether taking a few moments as part of a family portrait session in a local park, or just dedicated solely [...]

Family Portrait Gallery

Boston and New Hampshire wedding and portrait photographer Kevin Jacobus goes to great lengths to photograph many combinations of family portraits at weddings, knowing some family members have traveled long and far and often at considerable expense for a major family event.  We find however, that after all the weddings are done and people are [...]

Erin & Steve’s tent wedding in Hudson, NH

Don and I photographed Erin and Steve’s tent wedding in Hudson, NH May 22. Erin loves photos! When I get a client who is into photography, I’m always honored that they chose me. Erin made her own photo guest book which had photos of all of her guests! That’s quite an accomplishment. This wedding was a blast. They had an outdoor, tent wedding in a parents backyard in Hudson, NH. There was a humorous moment during the ceremony-everyone could hear an ice cream truck in the distance–Steve didn’t miss a beat–he yelled out, “ice cream!” for a bit of comedy relief right in the middle of the ceremony. We lucked out timing-wise on the portraits too–I flagged down the ice cream truck for a photo. Interesting vehicles aplenty at this wedding. They chartered a pair of school buses to bring guests to and from their hotel. Made for some fun and unusual wedding photos. I learned that one of Erin’s bridesmaids was a neighbor of mine. Small world!

Amy and David’s Sky Meadow wedding

Amy and David’s Sky Meadow wedding

I photographed Amy and David’s wedding at Sky Meadow in Nashua June 7, 2009. My associate photographer, Beth Donnell, joined me and she photographed the groom and his guys getting ready at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nashua. In Amy’s words: He’s 6’4″, She’s 5’2″. He’s lived all over the country, She was born and [...]

Great Green Greek Wedding at Rye Harbor State Park

Great Green Greek Wedding at Rye Harbor State Park

Alright, so that headline was a weak attempt at alliteration perhaps. It was a Greek wedding though. With green dresses, ties, bows, cake, and antique car. And it was a great wedding in a beautiful little chapel followed by a tented reception by the ocean. Erin and Tim were married August 16 at the Union Chapel in North Hampton, NH followed by a reception at Rye Harbor State Park.

Stacey and Chris’s Wedding at Bear Island on Lake Winnipesaukee

Stacey and Chris’s Wedding at Bear Island on Lake Winnipesaukee

I headed up to Lake Winnipesaukee for Chris and Stacey’s wedding August 2nd. They had boats ferrying guests to Bear Island, where Stacey’s family has a vacation home. I was there all day, which meant I was able to accompany Chris and some early-arriving guests on a hike around the island. There’s an old church towards the center of the island called St. John’s on the Lake. Church-goers arrive by boat and hike up to the church for services. Their ceremony, however, was held on Stacey’s parent’s property. The rain held off until the end of the day, so kids could play all day, which meant lots of squirt gun battles and swimming. Of course, Chris and some of his adult guests took advantage of the lake setting to cool off too. I got off the island in the nick of time at the end of the day– a major thunderstorm was brewing and I just got back to the dock in Meredith, NH when the thunder and lightning started.

Deann and Jeremy’s Wedding at Pat’s Peak

Deann and Jeremy’s Wedding at Pat’s Peak

I photographed Deann and Jeremy’s wedding and reception at Pat’s Peak in Henniker, NH July 19. It was another hot and humid one, and a thunderstorm threatened all afternoon. Right as guests were seated for the outdoor ceremony, the downpour began, so we had to rush inside and do the ceremony in stifling heat. Jeremy is a Navy man-submariner specifically. His boat is on exercises in Florida, so he flew up right before the wedding. Most of his friends are military, and couldn’t make the wedding. Seems to be a theme here like my last post– military families making sacrifices, such as friends or relatives not being able to attend major family gatherings. They made the best of it, despite the heat, rain, and military obligations of friends unable to attend and partied hard nonetheless.

Emily and Jay’s Engagement Session in Nashua

Emily and Jay's Engagement Session in Nashua

I took Emily and Jay to a man-made pond along Gilson Road in Nashua, NH July 10 for an engagement session. I have known Emily’s family for years going back to when I was a photographer for The Telegraph. I spent a year covering stories on her brother Ross, a Marine Corps reservist who was part of Marine Wing Support Squadron 472 at the time. We all got to know each other quite well through good times and tough times– Ross has been deployed to Iraq before at the Al Asad air base near the Syrian border. It’ll be great seeing everyone together again when I shoot Emily’s wedding in September, although bittersweet, since Ross is heading back to Iraq for another deployment, this time to Fallujah, so he won’t be able to attend the wedding.

Laura and Chris’s Wedding on Lake Ossipee

Laura and Chris’s Wedding on Lake Ossipee

Laura and Chris had their wedding and reception on the shores of Leavitt Bay on Lake Ossipee in Center Ossipee, NH, July 5th in Laura’s parents lakeside backyard. Her mom is a wedding photographer too. I love the photograph of her becoming tearful while hugging her daughter. She was helping put Laura’s necklace on, and I think the sentiments of the moment hit her then. I had competition too- a young family member jumped in to grab a shot during the formals!

Sarah and Jon’s Wedding at The Granite Rose

Sarah and Jon’s Wedding at The Granite Rose

Sarah and Jon were married at the First Congregational Church in Methuen, MA, followed by a reception at The Granite Rose in Hampstead, NH, Sunday June 29. It was hot and humid, so everyone was glad to get inside following formal photos. Later, we had quite a thunderstorm that almost stopped the music–power flickered a bit and everyone held their breath for a moment.

Jennifer and Mike’s Wedding at the Executive Court in Manchester

Jennifer and Mike’s Wedding at the Executive Court in Manchester

Jenn and Mike were married at the Brookside Congregational Church in Manchester, NH June 28. Their reception was held at the Executive Court, also in Manchester. I’ve included some photos of humorous reactions– take a look at the baby photo, and also the one of Mike after a sip of champagne– I gather it’s not his favorite drink! I got a kick out of one of the staff members at the Executive Court–she got into the action by joining the conga line on her way from clearing a table!

Tiffany and Jeff’s Wedding at The Granite Rose in Hampstead

Tiffany and Jeff’s Wedding at The Granite Rose in Hampstead

Tiffany and Jeff had a great time at their wedding and reception at The Granite Rose in Hampstead, NH June 21st. Both the guys and the ladies hammed it up with the fedoras.

A Celtic Handfasting Ceremony

A Celtic Handfasting Ceremony

I photographed Brad and Jennifer’s Celtic handfasting May 1, 2008 in Center Harbor, NH. This will probably rank as one of the more unusual weddings I’ll shoot — all the guests wore period costumes and the event included a jousting tournament. No one got seriously hurt. Kidding of course…..The caterer was Hart’s Turkey Farm out of Meredith. They are awesome! This is the second time I’ve been able to partake in their offerings. The first was after I climbed Mt. Washington for Seek the Peak 2007, a hike-a-thon to raise funds for the Mt. Washington Observatory.
