Chris & Candace’s Plum Island Beach Wedding

Chet was the photographer for Chris and Candace’s beach wedding on Plum Island June 19. They had their ceremony with a simple arch set up on the beach after formal photographs were taken by the lighthouse on the northern end of the island. They didn’t have a traditional bridal party, but their nieces participated in the wedding and as a really cool twist, carried pinwheels instead of bouquets. Nice weather and surroundings for a casual and elegant event!

Jill and Matt’s April Wedding at Topsfield Commons

I photographed Jill and Matt’s wedding ceremony and reception April 17, 2009 at the Topsfield Commons. The ladies got ready at a rented home on Plum Island in Newburyport, MA and we were able to head to the beach after for some photos before the ceremony. I had my associate Nicolaus with me and he photographed the guys getting ready at The Garrison Inn in Newburyport. They all headed down to the boardwalk in Newburyport Harbor for some photographs of the guys.

I did a little bit of painting with light, which involves uses a flashlight and a long shutter speed for some of the portraits.

I knew a few folks there–Jill’s maid of honor, Marisa, and her husband Paul were engagement session clients months before. Jill’s father was my high school track coach and so it was a small world to be hired by them. We had a great year shooting engagements and their wedding. Jill has sent a lot of clients my way and for that I’m thankful! I promised to be her family photographer if she’d let me!

Jill and Matt’s Engagement Session at Maudslay State Park

I photographed Matt and Jill’s engagement session May 25 in Newburyport, MA. Just by sheer coincidence, it happens that Jill and I both graduated from Newburyport High School. Small world indeed. So, it was fitting that we did the engagement session at a number of sites in Newburyport. We started at Maudslay State Park, headed over to the beach on Plum Island, and finished up on the boardwalk downtown. Matt and Jill are avid runners– Matt finished 59th in the 2004 Boston Marathon. Basically, me running is like a leisurely stroll for him. Humbling…… I’m shooting their wedding April 17, 2009 at The Commons in Topsfield.
